This is essentially my vision that if an alien arrived on Earth and we thought it was not a living being because it wasn't organic, we would say it was a robot. So this is a little alien running around saying, I'm not a robot. I'm a living person. It's a look at how we define what is living and what isn't, what is a sentient being. And it's a poke at the fun of having to click I'm not a robot when we do anything on the internet.
About the frames: my frames are mostly second-hand, rescued from charity shops and sometimes the rubbish pile. Small scratches, scuffs, fading and light damage are intentional: a nod to the past, and to the millions of images people have chosen to display in their homes to communicate who they are. The recycling may show. That's part of what makes each piece an original, and part of the story. Small print
