Untitled (Keep Clear), 2026. Materials including oil pastel, acrylic, acrylic pens and coloured biro over a digital image. Framed, 65.5 × 75.5 cm. Recycled frame from Acorn · 10% to charity. On loan to St Helier Town Hall
This is about me after witnessing a Christmas recital by my daughter. I felt so proud that when I looked upon St Helier, I saw it as a truly wonderful, magical place that loved me and I loved it, and I was so happy to be standing on the top of the stairs of the Methodist Church looking towards Fort Regent that I took a photograph. The photograph held none of the emotions I felt, so I repainted it with the emotions in it.
About the frames: my frames are mostly second-hand, rescued from charity shops and sometimes the rubbish pile. Small scratches, scuffs, fading and light damage are intentional: a nod to the past, and to the millions of images people have chosen to display in their homes to communicate who they are. The recycling may show. That's part of what makes each piece an original, and part of the story. Small print

The surface catches the light and changes as you move about. A photo can't do that. Get in touch and we'll sort out a visit.
